As a newbie to Photoshop, if you would just mention the word “mask,” my eyes would glaze over, and my mind would become this muddled mass of confusion. But as time has passed, I’ve learned to use a variety of the masks in Photoshop, and they are very helpful. However, my favorite is the Clipping Mask.
First, let me explain how a clipping mask works. If you have a manipulation with several layers of cutout stock, but you want to make some sort of change to only one of these cutouts or pngs, without a clipping mask it’s extremely tedious. You pretty much have to either make permanent changes, or work in a separate file.
